Who is ‘A Sister Mama’ and what experience and qualifications do you have?

Hi, I’m Hattie Moleta CNCS®, an internationally qualified ‘Certified Newborn Care Specialist’ through the Newborn Care Specialist Association (NCSA).

I have several years’ experience working with newborn babies up to 16 weeks old, and infants up to 18 months old.

I am a certified newborn sleep consultant through the Institute of Paediatric Sleep & Parenting.

I have completed a multitude of certifications on Lactation Specific Education, Bonding & Infant attachment, Perinatal Mood Disorders, Maternal Mental Health, Early Brain Development in Infants, Diversity Equity & Inclusion.

I am part way through a Bachelor of Health Science at AUT and have both Red Cross & St John CPR Certifications for Young Children.

I have three wonderful daughters with my husband Tim, we live on the lovely North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. Both Tim and I are from large families, totalling nearly 60 family members all together! We love to holiday in our caravan, travelling around the beautiful beaches New Zealand has to offer.

What services do you offer?

Where are you based?

I am based in Auckland, New Zealand. I visit parents all over the city for in-home sessions, and work with parents all over the world online. I travel for in-person visits out of Auckland* (travel costs apply)

What ages do you work with?

I specialise in working with newborns, right from day one, through to approximately 18 months old.

Do you work with toddlers older than 18 months? 

The majority of my studies and expertise have been focussed on the ‘newborn to 18 month old’ age bracket, therefore I centre my attention within this age group to maximise the support I can offer parents.

No. Whilst ‘A Sister Mama’ was born from my desire to support new mamas, I know there are so many other people that can make up the modern ‘village’. I’ve worked with Dad’s, single parents, grandparents, caregivers and many other types of family units. I’m here to support you (whoever you may be) with navigating newborn life.
